Hey Ya'll,
Got me one of these coming here in the next few days: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130433
What is the best way to install this as far as drivers go?
Currently this rig has a 8800GT nvidia card in it, I think its a BFG.
Should I remove all drivers and put it in to std vga mode or what?
Thanks for the help.

Best way Steve is to go to 3dguru.com and grab the driver remover, detonator I think its called.
Remove drivers. Shut down. Remove card. Install new card. Start with the VGA drivers. Install new drivers. Restart computer and your good to go.
Course if you want just remove the old card, install the new card and install new drivers. Ive had good luck either way.

get whats called **driver sweeper** from guru3d.com
first.
uninstall your old drivers through /control panel/system/device manager/drivers/uninstall...
second.
turn off computer, then ( this is important guys ) turn off the power supply/then hit the power button to discharge the capacitors and the motherboard).....
now install your newcard.
boot into safe mode**(( pressing F8 ))..run the driver sweeper from there.
DONT install the vga drivers when asked, they are already there with your operating system naturally..also when asked just click out
then reboot..when asked again to install drivers click out of that one again.
then install your new vid card drivers with the cd/driver disk that comes with the card.
now most people start off chasing drivers pffffffffffftttttttt...no need, unless a driver specifically addresses an issue your having, the drivers that come with your CD are about as good as It gets...yes there are sometimes and vary rarely an added performance boost** but nothing worth even mentioning..unless they address once again, a specific game title or problem..... or if you want to, go to the ATI or nvidia site and download the newest WHQL drivers and start with them...the point being..changing drivers isnt necessary
