Thinking of gettting an ECCI trackstar 6000...any thoughts on the product? I am currently using a TSW Stock wheel and pedals. I know a couple guys in here are using the ECCI can you please give me some feedback.
My one concern is the pedal configuration...with my tsw I removed the brake pedal and moved it to where the clutch would be so my feet were more spread apart thus making it more like a go-kart config with the gas and brake, it is much more comfortable this way. Looking at the ecci pedal set-up if I were to go with the 2-pedal config, they look very close together. I have read that if I go with the GTS pacakage, I could probably do this. Any input would be appreciated.

Also was wondering what pulley ratio you guys are using for oval racing? I was reading in the iracing forum that most guys started with the heavy config and went to the medium to light.

Ive got lots of thoughts. Why are you thinking of the ECCI? Ive got one sitting right now. Im not willing to sell it yet but its not that much better than a TSW. The only thing the ECCI has over the TSW is looks and girth.
As far as the pedals go there very adjustable so I wouldnt worry about the spacing...you can adjust.
I know a guy that has a ECCI 900 degree wheel and he ditched it for a G25. It just dosent work well with iR.
Talk to Jeff Sharp. He runs a ECCI every where. I think you are just running oval. Right? If so stick with the TSW. If you plan on running some RC's then Id go with G25 or DFGT with maybe some CST's. Pedals are whats holding you back on the TSW if anything is.
I just dont want you to spend 1500 on a wheel and not be happy with it.

Dave Thanks, after speaking with Robert I think I'm gonna go with the G25 and either ECCI pedals or DYI pedals.

This is what i have done with the G25 pedals. I enjoy them but they def will not have the travel of ecci or other custom made pedals but they do the job more then enough. The brake has some progressive feel which is nice for a commercial product such as that. You also don't have to use the black base like i did, each pedal can be mounted anywhere you like separately. And very easy to take apart.
1: i used a 10-bit usb converter for more stepping mainly didn't like the default stepping range. Used this product and a link to it here.

Joe I'm a little confused, are those the actual G25 pedals? They look plastic on the website that I was looking at for the G25.

Those are the G25 pedals

yeah I went back and read some more on the pedals, they are steel. I was simply looking at the pics and they looked plastic. I actually sent an e-mail to CST to see if I can get a set custom built for the TSW wheel. If not I think Im gonna get a G25 wheel and the CST pedals.
I really think I'm losing on tire management with the inputs the tsw pedals are providing.

Well those CST pedals are going to give you much better pedal input then even what i have done, They have more travel and MUCH more adjustable thottle and break.
As far as those working with the TSW. You would plug just your wheel in. and those CST's into a USB port and boom your setup. pretty simple. No differ then what i do with my G25 modified pedals now.

I have both the Leo Bodnar upgrade and the Nimix mod also for the G25 pedals and it made them come to life, I would spend that first before you get CST's and see what you think of that setup first.
But I agree with Dave on the ECCI also as I have heard that all the none FFB wheels kinda are missing out on the whole banana here at iRacing, so to buy a ECCI or any other would probably not be the best.

I have had FFB wheels before and always turned it off. I love the tsw wheel, it's the braking I think I'm missing out on. Even with a G25 wheel I don't think I would run it with the FFB on, or am I missing something here.

The G25 is an amazing wheel, I went from a Simpros setup to this. Logitech really built a great wheel.

I have to disagree with Dave about the difference between an ECCI and TSW. Both great products, but the feel of the ECCI blows the TSW away. I have a TSW2 and ECCI,the ECCI is worth every penny. I love it.
If I did not already have an ECCI, I would try a G25 wheel first, I would get either ECCI or CST pedals and a SST Lightning shifter. I tried a G25 recently and didn't like it, but I think I could get used to it if my ECCI had not spoiled me already. On the G25, I did not like the slight notchy feeling when turning (It not that bad, but I'm spoiled be my ECCI's smoothness), Dead spot in the middle (still not that bad, but there) and Its just not in the same ballpark as far as the workmanship that goes into the ECCI. Hook the ECCI up to the desk and never touch it again, except for what it was made to do. Mass produced product versus hand and machine made, built like a tank product. The main difference for me in the two wheels is the feel, ECCI feels like you are holding on to a car steering wheel, G25 felt like a toy steering wheel.....no offense. :)
I am happily waiting for a Built like a tank FFB wheel to become more readily available and I will most likely be making the switch, but I'm more than content for now.
I would get the g25 wheel if I were you Steve, but get the CST pedals for sure too or just get the pedals for now.

I would never compare ecci with a g25, apples and oranges when it gomes to build quality hands down. Just about any of those hand built products at even close to ecci lvl's will blow away the G25. I am happy with what i have for now. I am looking soon though to upgrade to ecci pedals or those cst's

I just sent Todd Cannon my payment for the CST-F1 2 pedal set and platform. He was great and he threw in the null plug in I need for the TSW wheel. Explained how it all worked and everything. I have an Obutto cockpit and he is making sure the pedal platform will fit. Should have them in about 5-6 weeks.
