The Tuner Truck Series drivers traveled to Lowes Motor Speedway this week. There were twenty two drivers for practice and twenty for the race. In Happy Hour Mike Grandy would top the speed charts followed closely by Kelley. The two crews had their trucks tuned to perfection but during the qualifying runs both drivers would swap positions with Mike Kelley grabing the honors and bonus point for the pole.

The race got started and went fifteen laps before the caution flag would wave. Kelley, Grandy, and Costin all had very strong trucks and were going to prove to be the classes of the field. The race would see a total of only four cautions. The second half of the battle up front was between Grandy, Kelley and Costin swapping spots and driving side by side for multiple laps with out incident. During one of the cautions Ron commented on how his fingers were cramped from gripping the steering wheel so intently.

Just behind the leaders there was a pretty strong four car battle between Gay, Stephens, Holzwarth and Skahill. Gerald would spend most of the time door handle to door handle with Brett. During one of the pit stops Kelley would take two tires keeping him out front. Grandy took four and mentaly had the upper hand with fresher and more rubber. In the end it would pay off for Mike to get the four but Kelley thought for sure he could have held off Grandy with only two.

I guess we will have to wait for another meeting to find out as the race would end early due to a caution. Holzwarth who was running in sixth would get disconected under caution sending him back to 13th spot. Mike Kelley and Ron Costin would finish second and third respectivley. Gerald Gay finished a strong fourth in the field and Brett Stephens rounded out the top five. Dave Parker wins the bonus point for the hard charger award this week gaining eight spots during the race. Congratulations go out once again to Magic Mike Grandy for winning the second concecutive Truck Tuner Series race. Can he do three in a row? Will Mike Kelley get married at Michigan or will he be the bride's maid once more? Come join us and see. Thanks to all the drivers that make the series fun to drive.
