Default Mic problems

I'm having problems trying to get my mic to work, I've tried two different ones, both are not working. I've messed with the mic settings and have it to where what i'm saying will come through the speakers but the computer is not picking it up for some reason. So thats let me know that the mic is not screwed up. When I test hardware its not recognizing anything voice coming through the mic, but its coming through the speakers. Any ideas? I fooled with it for over a hour and got nothing.

Which OS are you using? I had to mess with mine to get it to work again with Win 7...Make sure in windows that you have the mic that is plugged in as the input device, then in iracing make sure you have selected the right mic.

I have the correct input selected. My headset/mic works cause it comes through the speakers. But when i try to record or test hardware the computer will not pick it up. I've tried about everything I can think of.
