King Kelley Crowns Bristol
The Tuesday night truckers must have been scared to try and tackle the high banks of Bristol as the driver count was lacking. There was no reason to be scared as it was a great race that went caution free. Who'd of thought? The series saw a new driver, Robert Lawson, who was recorded as saying he was just going to stay out of the way cause he was new to iRacing. Slow my ass. He topped the speed chart in practice session and was later recorded saying "any one can turn one fast one".
As the drivers took to the track for the qualifying session it would be Mike Johnson that would take the top honors. David Holzwarth would stick a lap good enough to start second. King Kelley would start fourth.
The drivers took to the track thinking this was going to be a wreck fest but couldn't have been farther from the truth. The race was at a controlled but fast pace. Kelley was later heard saying that he never really drove it hard. There were four lead changes between Kelley, Terrell, Johnson, and Lawson. Some of the laps lead happened during green flag pit stops. Bobby was the only driver that was able to stay on the same lap as Kelley who dominated the race. This left Johnson and Holzwarth to battle it out in the closing laps. Dave thought he was going to be able to get a spot from Johnson but he was so wrong. Johnson was just toying with him. Lawson has a great run for his first time out with the group finishing fifth. Congrats to Mike Kelley the King of Bristol.
